FAQ

How much smaller will the file get?

It depends on what's inside: a scanned or image-heavy PDF often shrinks a lot, since compression mainly works by re-encoding embedded images. A PDF that's already mostly text has less to gain.

Will the quality visibly drop?

Some image quality loss is the trade-off for a smaller file. For something going into an inbox rather than a print shop, it's rarely noticeable. Stronger compression presets are on paid plans if you need finer control over that trade-off.
